There is no doubt that does cost to climb a mountain like Kilimanjaro. In the table below I have
tried to summarize what I spent on this trip and I have tried to take
everything into account (equipment, transportation, costs for the trekking
on the mountain). We choose to go for Marangu hotel as a tour guide and they
are not the cheapest but I think we made a right decision. Another variable is the cost of equipment. How much
stuff have you got and how much do you have to buy to be prepared for this
trip?

I used KLM/Kenya Airways to fly to
Nairobi.

I used Precision Air from Nairobi to
Kilimanjaro International airport

Transportation to the hotel and to the
airport was arranged by Marangu hotel. It was quite expensive if you are
alone in the car (50 US dollars).

Clothing includes stuff like good warm underwear in wool and
syntethics, Fjällräven pants, woollen sweater, good mittens, gaiters,
balaclava, fleece pants etc

Misc equipment includes a new and better sleeping bag, silk
inner bag, Platypus water bottle, aluminium water bottle, walking poles etc

Medicine/Toiletries includes Malarone malaria pills, head
ache pills, Diamox, sun cream, compeed, sports tape etc
